In Arizona, the mediation process is completely confidential. Any and all communication and/or information that is shared within mediation meetings, can not be used against you at any time. Anything said or done during your mediation process is between you, your spouse, and your neutral mediator. Your confidential information never becomes public.
Most lawyers require high retainer fees as well as additional hourly fees for the time spent on your case. In reality, the higher the conflict levels in a litigated divorce case, the more time an attorney spends on the case, and the more spouses are paying for their divorce. Divorce lawyers throughout the state of Arizona, including those in Coconino County, require a $5,000 – $15,000 retainer fee. This fee is paid by both spouses and is needed to begin your divorce process.
