Child support works best when both parents trust the numbers and know their child is covered. At Aurit Mediation’s Phoenix office, you and your co-parent set support together with a neutral mediator, privately and without going to court.
Your mediator runs Arizona’s child support calculator with both of you, so every income, health insurance, and childcare figure is one you both recognize. You agree on payment terms and shared expenses, and Aurit prepares the agreement and worksheet and files them for you.

The court assigns each case to one of these courthouses by the ZIP code of the filing parent (or their attorney), and you can file at any location. Cases the state files through the Attorney General’s child support office follow separate rules.
Agreed support is filed with your decree or stipulated order, along with the Child Support Worksheet and, if wages will be withheld, an Income Withholding Order. Unless the court orders otherwise, payments run through Arizona’s Support Payment Clearinghouse.
If support goes unpaid, Maricopa County’s Support Enforcement Court starts with a conference and moves to a hearing if the parents do not agree. An order can be changed later when circumstances change in a substantial and continuing way. The court’s Law Library Resource Center can help with forms, though not legal advice.
Phoenix parents work with mediators who make the numbers clear and keep money conversations calm.

Founder and Mediator Michael pairs a Juris Doctor from Pepperdine University School of Law with a Master's in Dispute Resolution from Pepperdine's Straus Institute. He has taught mediation as an adjunct professor of law at the Straus Institute and ASU, co-founded the National Mediation Training Institute, and brings his experience as Ethics Chair of the Maricopa County Association of Family Mediators to every financial negotiation.

Founder and CEO Karen co-founded Aurit with a children-first mission, which is why support conversations here start with what your child needs. With a clinical psychology master's from Antioch University, a psychology degree from ASU, and Straus Institute mediation training, she has taught mediation at both law schools and co-hosts the Inside the Mediation Room podcast in partnership with Mediate.com.

Lead Mediator Andrew walks parents through each line of the support worksheet until both agree on the inputs. He holds a J.D. from Arizona State University's Sandra Day O'Connor College of Law and was recognized as Arizona's Top Mediator for 2025 by the Arizona Mediator's Association.
Support is easier to agree on when the process feels fair to both parents. Aurit keeps it transparent from the first calculation to the final order:
Your mediator walks through incomes, parenting time, and child-related costs line by line before anything is final.
Insurance, childcare, activities, and reimbursements are assigned clearly, so a surprise bill does not become a standoff.
Your fee is quoted up front at the free consultation, so the cost of reaching agreement never grows with each disagreement.
No. Phoenix parents use the same statewide Arizona Child Support Guidelines as every other county. What is local is where the order is entered and enforced: the Superior Court in Maricopa County.
Not always. If the guideline amount would be inappropriate, the court may approve a different amount when it serves your child’s best interests. Your mediator documents the reasons for any deviation.
Collecting unpaid support is a job for the court or the state, including Maricopa County’s Support Enforcement Court. When both parents are ready to solve a payment problem together, mediation gives you a private place to plan the way forward.
A modification needs a substantial and continuing change in circumstances. Parents who agree on new terms can mediate them and submit the agreement for court approval, without starting over.
Your child’s stability starts with a plan both parents can live with. In your free one-hour consultation, a mediator reviews your situation, explains how Arizona’s calculator applies, and confirms a personalized flat fee. Then you run the numbers together in mediation sessions, and Aurit prepares the agreement and worksheet for the court.
